Spirit Healthcare Free Monitor

Hi all,

I'm having trouble with the 'PC Care' software :? I've downloaded it, and am able to open the software :!:

I've also installed the device drivers for the meter :!:

My PC 'Device manager' identifies the meter as being present and working fine, however the PC Care software believes it isn't connected when i press the download tab.

Also when i downloaded the software there is a load of 'test data' on the software from 2009, and i cannot change the meter serial number in user settings :? .

Any one else experienced the above, or any IT bods got an idea :?:

Thanks

Tony

I haven't downloaded the software yet because I don't have the USB cabel yet. But, if it's anything like the other one I've got then maybe you need to create a new "user/patient" account and probably choose the USB port in the port settings so that the software recognises the meter.

Looked at the software and it will allow you to set yourself up, but not change the meter serial number......Also can't see anywhere to select the port settings for the download :!:

In the systray (bottom right hand corner of your screen) there's an icon for the meter, if you click on that you can choose the port there. There are 3 choices so try them one by one and one should work.

I can't find any place where you can enter the serial number though, haven't read all the instructions yet. Could be that once the meter is seen by the program that it may read the serial number and insert it into your profile automatically.

You can download the "CareSens PC Care Quick Guide" where you downloaded the program, it might mention the serial number in there somewhere.

Hooked up the meter again, and software recognised it this time, and downloded test results and changed the serial number :? :? Thanks for the info :D

Got my free one yesterday been having a play about with it. Seems a bit flimsy and cheap and rather on the large side. Buttons in particular are pretty cheap feeling. But I suppose if the strips are only £12 will help those on a budget. I certainly don't like the idea of surgery's or gps trying to get people to use these instead of ones they are already comfortable with. Seems wrong and possibly a bit on the anti competitive side of the law.

Hi Karen

Just requested a meter.

Edit

And it arrived this morning :D
