While supplements such as this may possibly be useful for Vegans, anybody serious about nutrition will know that the quantity of total protein or iron or other vitamins and minerals in something often bears little relation to the amount absorbed by the body when we eat it. The bio-availability is the crucial factor here and although Spirulina and Chlorella are thought to have about the same bio-availability for Calcium and Carotene as green leafy veg or carrots respectively, they don't appear to be superior. It is well known that heme iron (not found except in animal-based foods) has far superior absorption than does iron from plant sources.
Plant proteins are less complete than animal proteins and thus the figures for Protein compared with meat such as beef is misleading to say the least!
Finally, fat is actually good for Type 2 diabetics, since it hardly raises Blood Glucose, even compared to protein, never mind carbohydrates. But since you are a Type 1, you may not care about this.
