Has anybody any recommendations for a sports watch to read the freestyle libre. I run track and road and would like to check my BG with something other than my phone. not sure about using MioMio or other as it only complicates the issues.

any help is greatly appreciated

That's the only way you'll be able to get Libre data on a watch. There is a way to make the Sony Smartwatch 3 scan the Libre, but it is complex and requires downgrading the firmware.

Hello @jim_malcolmson Not sure to be honest because you would need a watch that has NFC and be able to have the Libre Mobile app installed, you would have to have a look around the Libre site itself or download it off the Android Play store (assuming your using an Android device) or it could be done.

MiaoMiao is simply a BluTooth transmitter nothing more, that you can link into other third party software like Glimp (not sure if you can use this on a smart watch), xDrip or Spike (iOS) but I think with Spike you will need to have the phone on you for it to work. Again you would have to use the magic of Google to find out.

I use a Ticwatch which has a load of various sports options that I personally don't use but it supports xDrip which can be used independently from the phone when you have a MiaoMiao attached..

Sony smart watch 3 works well with Glimp as a stand alone Libre scanner. But it is faff rooting, downgrading grading the firmware and getting NFC to work.

Not with the Ticwatch you can't. The only watch that this works properly with out of the box is the Sony Smartwatch 3.

HMMM!! Don't get what you mean?

Are you saying that the Sony Smart Watch 3 is the only one you can use as a scanner/reader on the Libre and the Ticwatch you can't?

This I agree with.

However with the MiaoMiao attached it will send info to the Ticwatch with out the phone having to be near by, as an example I can leave the phone at home and go the gym and still track on the watch, yes it need xDrip installed but think I said that in the reply.

ok let me get my head around this, if i use MiaoMiao i can use any smart watch with the correct software but is it bluetooth from my phone or directly from the sensor to the watch but if i only want a watch i can only use a sony smartwatch 3?

is that correct?

With the MiaoMiao you can use the Ticwatch as a stand alone collector
