This article came up in my Facebook newsfeed. I had realised Starbucks coffees were more carby than other coffee shops but 18g in one drink!

I'll stick with Costa or Caffè Nero's small cappuccinos at 4.1 and 3.8 respectively. Although I'm renewing my liking for black coffee to save carbs for food. It takes me back to my student days when no one ever had any milk!

My nespresso makes a beautiful zero carb crema. Closest thing I've found to a latte.

I have a Tassimo and have a cappuccino every morning 2.5g carbs and an occasional less sweet latte at 5g carbs. There are some Tassimo ones that are zero carb with a Crema, I'll have to have another look at the website. I'm more and more just having black coffee when I'm out.

That reminds me of my student days - never any milk or sugar - we often resorted to putting Golden Syrup in our coffees!

So Starbucks are saying that there is no added sugar and the 18 gms of sugar are in the semi-skimmed milk?

It doesn't add up does it?

It must be a very large drink!

I sometimes get a large Latte from Starbucks when I go shopping, as they give you a free one for an empty Starbucks Coffee packet. I usually have a couple of those as I make coffee with their beans, first thing in the morning.
I add sweetener. I didn't know it already contained 18 gms of sugar. I won't be having them from now.

According to their website the 'Tall Latte' which is what I have, and is their standard serving, is 12 ozs and contains 14 gms of sugar.

I was forced to give up coffee many years ago. I used to love a posh coffee but it seems I dodged a bullet there.

Never been in a Starbucks or a Costa 'cos I don't like coffee .. and I'm happy about that. Water or tea for me (no milk)

Well it says its 473 ml and say 450 ml of that is skimmed milk so carbs per 100 ml are 5g so 5*4.5 is 22.5g of carbs..
So there must either be less milk (maybe more coffee) or they have their measurements wrong..

Hey BB, sorry to derail the thread but has your bs returned to normal ?
