Hi My daughter is 3 years old and just about to start at a nursery for 3 hours. I have been told that the nursery would have to use gloves to check her blood sugar level. Do i have to provide them with the gloves or would they already have ones suitable to use already?

Hi there,

I work as a nursery nurse in the private sector and although I do not have experience of looking after a child with diabetes I do know that my nursery buy in gloves for uses such as nappy changing, cleaning, first aid etc. I would hope that any other nursery would be the same. In the end the gloves are used to protect the adult as well as the child so I hope that they would be provided.

Hope this helps :-)

My sister works in a nursery and has gloves provided by her work for carrying out such tasks.
