Starting on insulin

I reckon you are going to come back with an inspiring story in a few months about how close to the breach you came, how we should all follow you example and how the triplets you are expecting will be enjoying low carb milk

Hi Fenn,

I just wanted to thank you so much for your inspirational message - it spurred me on to achieving a better glucose control through 5 days intense HIIT exercise and some diet control. I now have a HBA1C of 51 (down from 56 in Jan) and have gone from regular blood sugars of 12/13/14 to getting most of my blood sugars below 9.

I also wanted to share that I’m 5 weeks pregnant (over the moon with this news!!!) and am requiring insulin to control my pregnancy sugar levels (which was expected as I did so in my first pregnancy too). I’m continuing with my exercise and try to eat better…

So just wanted to say a HUGE thank you to you and everyone in this troupe for your support.

It’s dark and cold outside, I’m just grumpily getting ready for Monday, I’ll check the forum quickly…

Wow! Thankyou so much, no credit for your fantastic news goes to me, it’s all you! Just over the moon for you, you are an inspiration!

…still dark, still cold, now I’m smiling ear to ear.

Seriously though Fenn, it was what you said and the way you said it that struck a chord and inspired me into positive action…

When I was in the depths of feeling despondent, you were funny and cheered me up…lifting me out of my dreary outlook…

Your prediction of ‘I reckon in a few months…’ helped me think of a new alternative reality and made me think where do I want to be in a few month’s time and what do I want to look back on…

Plus, your comment essentially put a challenge out there for me to rise to in the most supportive manner possible - so thank you.

This is a prime example of how an online forum can drive positive health benefits - so keep on being you on here… you never know how many people’s lives you touch in such a profound way.

I'm so happy to read your post update. I'm fairly new here. Was diagnosed end of June this year with exceptionally high numbers. I'm roughly your age and we were about to start ttc. I went super low carb, lost weight, excercised etc and I've finally gotten the go ahead to ttc as my last two hba1cs came back in non diabetic range. Hearing someone my age as a type 2 has gotten pregnant and has gotten their diabetes in control makes me feel reassured in my situation. Congratulations and thank you again for posting this.
