starting on pump

Exciting!!! Good luck you'll be great! I started on mine at end of Sept and never looked back, bloomin LOVE my pump!! ;-)

keep us up dated Phil169, love reading this stuff

hi
ok been on pump now from Wednesday and I think doing good. BG is down to between 5.7 and 13 this is the best its been for over the last 2 years. Thursday, Friday felt a bit rough but to day as not been to bad. ( think it was due to the large drop in BG's, starting on pump BG was 23.4) but other than that I love it.

@phil169 That is a dramatic improvement in BG control! Bet you are very happy with that! :-) It's bound to make you feel a little rough when you've been used to running so high and suddenly a big drop like that. I am feeling much better on pump as I was verging on hypo during nights and wasn't getting proper deep sleep so was like a zombie during day at work. Much better since been on pump! No more hypoing in night! :-)

Well done Phil you should be really proud, how are you doing re. your basal rates, are you still on high doses?

hi
first thanks for your support. basal is running at 4 units per hour and bolas is 3 units per 10g of carbs at the mo but the team think they can get it down when I have settled with the pump. BG went low at dinner time to day 4.3 (my first low BG hypo) lol. this use to happen at 17, so had a digestive (god they are sweet) and then had lunch rest of today been grate.

sounds like your doing well so far Phil, keep it up fella

@Gaz-M
thanks mate hope you get on pump soon mate, it is a bit of work but I am positive you will find it a lot better than MDI.

That is tremendous Phil to get your BG under (almost) control with less insulin, I know of other T2s who just can't get a pump :( Would you consider relaying all this to INPUT? It's a really positive outcome both in getting a pump (which as we know is difficult for T1s and almost impossible for T2s) and getting your life back, but the main point being it may help other T2s who are in a similar situation.

That's great news @phil169, really pleased it's working well for you! :-)

@Minnie45 @Spicey245

hi thanks for your support. I will let INPUT know just how in such a short time the pump has help me to get my BG under and hopefully it may help others to get a pump. Hospital phoned to day to see how the weekend went, they can not believe how well I and the pump is working. back to see them on Wednesday aft. today has been another grate day BG lowest 5.7 highest 10.3 (life is grate at last, also last night was the first night I have slept through, thrush as gone as well (first day free for almost 2 years). I love my pump lol.
