I do think I will need to take some time off work as I have a very physically demanding job and spend a lot of time driving.
I will need to give the pump my full attention for a few days at least and I won't be able to do that while I'm working. It might be different if I had a more sedentary job.

Cally the driving yes I would be a bit worried about but you will just need to test your bs on a reg bases. If you you take time off work and do very little you will be in exactly the same position when you go back to work as you will need to adjust your basals again.
You I suspect would need a weekend basal and a work basal.
You won't get everything sorted in a couple of days though it can take up to 6 weeks to sort it all out.
Just make sure you have plenty of glucose with you at all times.
Most clinics will have you running a bit higher than normal to start with so no chance of a hypo anyway
