I know that Grapefruit should be avoided when taking statins. I have noticed that the ingredients list of quite a few products includes "Citrus Fibre", but it does not specify which citrus fruit it is. Is this safe when taking statins (I am on atorvastatin if that makes any difference)?

Any citrus fruit should be avoided when takng medication, be safe
That is a very sweeping statement. Grapefruit is known to interfere with a lot of drugs but other citrus fruits generally do not. Consult the information for a particular drug to be sure.

My info leaflet just lists that grapefruit juice should be Limited to two small glasses - which as diabetics we probably wouldn't drink anyway - nothing about other fruit .

Could you please give an example of foods with citrus fibre in .. Or are they diet/weight reducing foods. From what I could find out on line citrus fibre is made from orange .. so not grapefruit. But as its meant to stop you benefiting from fat I would not want to use it when on a low carb high fat way of eating.
