statins help

ashi said:
The statin im taking is savastatin 40mg twice a day. I will go bk to the GP and ask for a different type of statin and c whats happens.

Are you sure of the name?
Google doesn't seem to recognise it and suggests Simvastatin.

If you are on Simvastatin (which is the default statin in most cases) then I strongly recommend that you try another type.

Symvastatin made me a Zombie
[but my mother wouldn't let me keep it.....]
so I stopped taking it and recovered overnight.
I am now on Pravastatin which does not seem to have any side effects and my cholesterol seems O.K.

I "Yellow Carded" Simvastatin - I hope everyone who has a bad reaction to a drug follows this course to record the side effects.

I do wonder how many people who stop statins have only tried Simvastatin and then been scarred for life.

Cheers

Hi
I've only just been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes ( 26th april, 2012)my bg was 9.3 after fasting. I'm currently on diet only, no meds.
At the same time my cholesterol test came back at 8.3 and have been on Simvastatin 40mg since.
I am also on warfarin (anticoagulants) the Simvastatin seems to be accelerating my INR levels, I wonder if anyone else has experienced this?
Brain fog, yep, thats me.
Is there a statin that does not interact with wafarin and has less side effects?

Great site
