Since being diagnosed type 2 in July this year the doctor prescribed metformin 3 x 500mg a day and 1 simvastatin each night. (my cholesterol level was 4.6 at the time).
I have been researching both drugs and the statin seems to be one that I should be very wary of. I stopped taking it for a while. But further reading led me to believe that as I only had minor side effects, the benefits outweighed the negatives and started again.
Through my ongoing research I'm getting the feeling that the negatives are begining to outweigh the postitives. In particular regarding tendonitis. Now I have read a lot of information indicating that the medication may cause tendonitis. However, there is very little info out there for someone like myself who already has tendonitis. Will simvastatin make it worse, and if so what would I expected if I continued taking the tablet?
