CoE Q10 is produced as a by product of cholesterol synthesis in the liver. Less cholesterol produced in the liver also means that it also produces less CoE Q10. (Lots of cholesterol in the diet might also lower CoE Q10, you'd have to try hard to eat several grammes a day though!)
