Hi again,
It's just about a year since I was diagnosed (type 2) and on Friday, last week I had a 'review'. She did the usual checks, weight (9 and a half stone), blood pressure,(140/80),pointed stick on soles of feet, (O.K.)...
Checked my most recent HbA1c (6.6)...
I needed to remind her that although I was prescribed Metformin, they are still in the box, untouched.

She has now put me on 1x20gm Simvastatin due to my cholesterol levels. :(
Because of this, I will need another blood test in about 7/8 weeks, apparently ...

Although I'm currently getting testing strips on prescription, she hinted that I may not get them in the future...

The fasting tests last week on the two days prior to my review were, 5.5 & 5.2
I only test occasionally, not every day...
My first Bg test following my review was yesterday afternoon (Monday) just after 3pm, (2 hours after lunch) the result, 5.3

I don't wish to appear complacent, but can I assume that my 'diet-only' approach is holding steady, at the moment?...

Regards, Malc.

P.S. Happy Valentines Day to all you ladies out there!

Looks like you're holding steady as you say Malc! So well done. Personally, I might try to tweak the diet or exercise just a bit to aim for that 6.0
Well done again

Sounds good to me! I'm trying to use diet and exercise, so stories like this are very heartening. I wonder if diet could solve the cholesterol too?
