steroid injections

I am having problems with my blood glucose since getting a steroid injection for joint pain highs during the dsy then hypos through the night. Was just wondering if anyone else has experienced this and if so have u any advice. I am type 1 on humalog and lantus

Hello Manda .
Yep steroid injections indeed can send your BG's wonky for a few days afterwards .
It can leave you feeling a bit rough and out of sorts for these few days too .

I have had cortisone injections for frozen shoulder .
Experienced about 3-4 days of erractic BG levels afterwards .

Best to test your BG levels a little more often during the next few days.
Then you can see where your BG levels are sitting at .
Keep your Hypo treatment close and handy too .
Any Hypos treat accordingly .

If unsure about your insulin titrates/needs with very erratic BG levels .
It is wisest to ask your DSN/GP for their advice on this .
