Have just shared a bar of chocolate made with stevia..from holland and Barrett...has anyone else tried it.?
Taste was rather nice...and it was a treat.....

Off topic slightly but I bought some Stevia little white pill things last week and they were DISGUSTING.
Well,to me anyway.
I have battled with all sorts of sweeteners and have decided with great regret that I am gonna have to give up drinking tea for the time being anyway,

I have 12 bottles of Tesco fizzy mineral water (17p per bottle)
Lemons (3 for 69P from Aldi)
Limes ( 3 for 69p also from Aldi)

I drink about 6 glasses a day and haven't missed my tea at all which is a huge surprise as I have always loved my builders tea. But I am saving about 200 calories a day aren't I?

Just hope I start losing some weight soon....

I quite like Lidl's 49p a liter sparkling water and Saunsburys' own brand though I too am very sensitive to artificial sweeteners

The only sugar substitute that hasn't mad me gag was Xylitol but I haven't experimented with how it effects my blood sugar personally.

I've yet to try Stevia but I'm quite curious to

I've yet to try Stevia but I'm quite curious to. Hopefully it really is as natural a product they are claiming. I mean they tricked a lot of people into ingesting pesticide a a sweetener...

I think the healthiest sweetener is pure stevia leaf (green powder) but i hate the taste and gave it up completely. Ive started using Xylitol for baking and its great. Tastes like sugar and behaves like sugar. The only minus is the price (about £3 per 250g and you use it like sugar)

Xylitol....just tried it a week ago to do some baking.....it's brill :) feel I can make a cake now....
