Hi I'm still awaiting diagnosis but I have most symptoms and nurse said highly likely to be diabetic coz family history. My question is past few days been very moody and angry which is so not me at all, the smallest of things stress me out could this be part of the symptoms or am I going mad

Hi. No, of course you're no madder than the rest of us ;). Not knowing if you're diabetic or not can be worse than being diagnosed, which at least gives you something to work on. You're feeling frustrated perhaps as well.
Did you find the advice given to you in your other thread any help?

The advice I've been given here has been great so far, I went to chemist to have levels checked told me were slightly up was 48 had bit stomach bug this week so diet been bit messed up so could have something to do with my moods

If the chemist's meter was checking for HbA1c level, then 48 mean diabetes. 42-47 means prediabetes. Up to 41 means normal.

The good news is that 48 is better than 68 or 98. But you still probably have blood glucose that is too high, and it could be contributing to how you are feeling. The best advice I can give is to reduce your carbs and eat a little more fat than usual, to give you the energy you're not getting from carbs and help you not crave carbs and feel so hungry. I would cut down on bread, pasta, rice, potatoes, cereals and porridge, and cut out cakes, biscuits, and other high sugar items, at least for now.

Also it would be a good idea to buy your own blood glucose meter and test strips. The cheapest test strips (the main ongoing cost) are with the SD Codefree meter which you can order online.

Hopefully you will know for sure one way or the other soon as waiting must be nerve wracking.

Ive been put on diet for type 2 since last month but have to have more blood tests end next month to tell if got it, I've been feeling light headed a lot past few days but get confused is it because my blood sugar is low or to high and how do I correct it feel bit left in dark just given leaflet and sent on my way

It is more than likely that your BS is lowering to some degree and it does take your body time to adjust to the lower levels. I know you havnt been formally diagnosed yet but having a meter is really an essential tool to have. It takes the guesswork out of 'is it high or is it low'. Having one would give you peace of mind.

If it is lowering how do I help make myself feel better as what to eat or not eat I am going to get myself a meter

If you let us know what do you generally eat in a day we may be able to be of more assistance. If it is lowering it just takes time for your body to adjust and you should start to feel better soon.

I normally have two slices toast with low fat spread mug tea with sweetners and semi skimmed milk for breakfast for snack I could have low fat pate on cracker bread for tea veg and maybe salmon or skinless chicken or a jacket potatoe instead veg and maybe a banana or yougart
