I’ve had a lot of eye problems despite being only prediabetic. My eyes started being watery and either stinging or sore - sometimes itchy. I have had an allergy to dust for years, so wax used to treating itchiness with drops. But the other symptoms were knee and I wasn’t sure what the problem was exactly.
Sometimes I would get those problems in the eyes and at other times one eye seemed to be sore and have stinging directly underneath the bottom lid. It turned out to be blepharitis, partly caused by dryness.
Apparently this can happen with age (I’m in my 50s). I’ve been given artificial tears to help keep the eye surface moisturised. I’m having fewer episodes of blepharitis, soreness etc. I was also told to put warm compresses on the eyes, which help and are quite soothing (with eyes shut!)
