Stitches/Blood Sugar

Hello All :)

I had some bothersome scar tissue removed on Wednesday & now have a few stitches. I expected my blood sugars would go up due to the stress (I'm a wuss) & pain which they duly did that evening but the following day they seemed to run a bit lower than usual. Goodo I thought, that's that out of the way but today they are running a bit higher than usual - only half a mmol/L or thereabouts but still higher than I'd normally get with the same foods.

Is it normal for sugars to go up & down & up again like that when you've had a medical procedure?

Thanks

safi

I find that my BS tends to vary anyway for example my morning readings can range from between 5.1 to 6.00 regardless of what I eat or do so it may just be a natural phenomenon!

Thanks Daphne917

I guess it was the consistency of the rise - across all of my readings from fasting to pre & post prandial - that had me worried it might be a general deterioration. Will keep my somewhat bruised & bloodied fingers crossed its just the stitches & that I'll go back to more familiar levels once they're taken out :)
