Hi everyone,
my son is type 1 diabetic - diagnosed 18 months ago. He has been experiencing stomach pain and aching side for a few weeks now. We visited the doctor 2 weeks ago who organised a urine test for infection but was clear. However, he is still having stomach pain??
IAny thoughts would be welcomed -
Thanks x

Hi

I can't really help as i was also going to post something about this...my husband was diagnosed in March and this has been happening to him too since he started injecting. He explains it as a 'crampy' feeling, usually more to one side. It never develops into anything and comes and goes. Sometimes depending what he eats and if he has had a couple of drinks the day before he gets the feeling all day in all parts of his stomach...weird!

Hope someone has an explanation for you!

Hi Feebie,

From another post i added onto another part of this site and searching tummy aches in type 1 diabetics it would appear that there is a strong possibility that it could becoeliac. The following info was provided to me : Type 1 diabetics are more at risk of developing coeliac and a symptom of this can be tummy aches and discomfort. Another symptom of coeliac in type 1 diabetics is unstable blood glucose readings .

I am going to speak with my sons nurse . Good luck to your husband.

Thanks
Dawnx
