Stomach pains Gabapentin

Hello, I have been on Gabapentin for 2wks now. Couldn't sleep all night with stomach cramps. Turning loads as well as Diabetic Neuropathy is uncomfortable. When I did my blood test this morning it was 5.0ml I really don't know what is going on with my body. Anyone experienced this or anyone like to comment please do. You may not be able to answer my prays but it's nice to talk to someone to put mind at ease or to talk to someone experiencing similar so know not on my own.

Hi. Check the link on side effects of the drug BUT don't think for a second they all apply. It may or may not be the cause of your stomach ache..but diarrhea and constipation are listed as side effects. That said, I am currently on 10 different drugs for other reasons and it's worth noting that every one of them has that as a POSSIBLE side effect. I think constipation is actually not uncommon to diabetics depending on diet.

Not sure what is wrong with your 5.0 reading...sounds really good to me! What is it normally?
So - yup - you are certainly not alone! It may simply settle as your body gets used tot he drug...probably will..but research diet issues..check out the low carb stuff on the site. Time will tell..stress...that'll do it too! Tea helps...eggs dont. If it persists speak to your doc about temporary meds. If it is really grim..may call for different meds instead. Very common.
