Right so I’m type 2 with hbac1 of 32 , lost a lot of weight and the last few days my readings have been low although I’ve been eating more carbs, two livlife bread this morn 5.1 usually I’d be higher off that.
Tonight was 4.6 so had a takeaway curry, poppadoms , Bhaji and curry a lot more carbs than I’d usually have 90 mins later 5.7
2 hours 5.4
My wife who is diabetes free and eat less than me from takeaway 2 hours 5.9!
These readings don’t seem right to me, use the contour next which is usually very reliable
Only thing that’s different is I haven’t had any alcohol for 3 weeks
Any opinions ?
Forgot to add no meds just diet

My (limited) understanding is that fatty liver can be an issue for many T2s. So I'm guessing that the combination of your weight loss and 3 weeks of being kind to your liver may have reversed a lot of your issues with processing carbs. So you may find that you are in remission? Having said that, I would recommend that you still watch your carbs and levels, as I suspect you may find yourself out of remission if you return to the ways of eating that gave you T2 in the first place.

But congrats on the improvement :)!

And an hba1c of 32 puts you firmly in the non-diabetic not even prediabetic range....

I had similar readings the other day - I had a jacket potato with prawns and salad and after an hour was up to 7.0 but was down to 6.0 after 2 hours. At between 100 and 130g carbs per day (sometimes more) I tend to be on the higher side of low carb anyway and have maintained non diabetic hba1c for approx 6 years.

OK so you're in remission.. great news

Probably showing that you are in remission..
y a lot more carbs than I’d usually have
Be careful.. if eating excess carbs was what put you over into the diabetes bracket then pushing at the boundaries, especially so early in the journey, might well not be advisable..

Well you did ask for opinions..

No it’s fair enough, was a treat as I didn’t have a birthday treat , will be the kind of meal I’ll have once a month at most, woke up to 6.5 this morning tho, so not as clever as I thought

Its a bit of a b**ger like that.. give it too much leeway and it comes back to bite you on the butt.. the main reason why I try to keep carbs to an absolute minimum even though I'm 4 years down the line..

Totally, but sometimes you gotta treat yourself to reason, no real damage done, all my tests were in normal range although higher than I’d like
