Hello I have been trying to monitor my blood glucose which I try to keep low trying to help with epilepsy and brain cancer. The idea is to cut down on carbs (mainly) and protein and eat a lot of fat. If I do it properly I should witness blood sugars in the range of 4-5mmol/l and ketones up as a result.
I have observed some strange readings from time to time, and would like to understand a bit more behind it.
My first question would be, blood sugar is measured as a concentration per volume, so what happens if I drink 1 lt of tea or water (green tea, no sugar or milk)? For a little while, until the kidneys manage to remove that extra lt, it will be circulating in my blood. Can that affect my readings then?
Second question is how long would you have to starve until the blood sugar drops below the 5s ? For example today I am just over 5, but last time I ate anything (and that was 0 carbs) was more than 14-15 hours ago.
Many thanks
