My bg rockets when I'm stressed. Stress definitely has an impact on bg.
It does on mine anyway, I get similar results to yours when I'm stressed.
Hope they come back down soon.

Are those of you who have observed such large an increase in BG sure your on the correct doses, in particular basal.........?

does the hormones released during stressful times increase insulin sensitivity and/or stimulate the liver to release more glucose........?

ultimately you just need to test and see what the numbers conclude......

Stress does effect bg levels, it might just be that the argument was still playing on your mind when you went to bed and you even dreamt about it during your sleep, other than that just keep an eye on your bg over the next few nights to see what levels your getting, the timing could all be a coincidence and you might need to increase your basal dose, time will tell........

Levels eventually came down with a correction dose and were fine all day!
When I'm upset I get a sudden high - I never used to, maybe as I'm getting older this changes perhaps? Anyway, it's a pain in the bum regardless!!

Hi Miss90

Stress hormones eg Adrenaline definitely cause an increase in BS's. (These are the same hormones released in Interval Training) This is also coupled with you possibly being affected by DP? (Dawn Phenomenon)

I definitely agree about adrenaline raising BG levels. When I was 16 I was running down a hill and tripped landing on my head. 10 mins later I wax throwing up and taken to hospital with concussion. They did a finger prick on me then all he'll broke loose. I was rushed into intensive care with a BG of around 70!!!! The nurse said she'd never seen a stick go that colour before. I don't really remember much about the following few days surprisingly

Yeah, stress sends my blood high....I think that's why I get stressed when I'm low. My body's way of pushing it back up for me

Had a form from dvla, 3 year renewal, and coincided with my 10 year pic renewal. Had an unusual high reading after filling them in last night!
From past experience stress usually does cause quite a jump in levels also.

Hello guys.today i want to post sth that I'm sure is gonna make you laugh but still is my problem.help me out please !

I'm 25 years old .I'm a type 1 diabetic who have had this darn disease for around 16 years so far,and still suffering no complications.I have a question that will make you laugh. You are well aware of the fact that "regular" and "NPH" insulins are definitely out of favor today, but here in my so-called glorious country, they are typically used by lots of patients since the availability of the new types of insulin such as Novo rapid or the lantus one , is restricted.
I've got my blood sugar level almost controlled.my hba1c's are generally 6 to 6.3 and I test my blood sugar level 3,4 times a day so I've got the average level of 140-150(without peaks), not a very high level for a diabetic, I guess.
Anyway, the other day I finally got the lantus and the novo rapid ones for the second time, but to my astonishment the novo rapid isulin sounds like not to be working when my blood sugar is more than 200!!!!(the lantus one sounds ok)
Well, let me give you an example:
let's imagine I have had 12 units of novo rapid before meal and I got my blood sugar on 250 an hour later.so generally in such rare situations,I would inject 3,4 more units to take it somewhere between 140-150.but the other day when it happened, I had to take 22 extra units and still 2 hrs later I find it around 200!!!!!HOW Could such a thing be ??????could you please explain what I can do?!!

P.S. my body is not resistive to insulin,I am male,175 cm and I weigh 73 kg.I take half a 25-mil lozartan pill every other day to lower my blood pressure a tiny bit.the very first time I used novo rapid and lantus insulins, around 2 years ago,I had no such a problem.but since they were too expensive back in the time,I had to get back to the medieval times insulins,I mean NPH and the regular type

Your help is really appreciated
