Hello guys.today i want to post sth that I'm sure is gonna make you laugh but still is my problem.help me out please !
I'm 25 years old .I'm a type 1 diabetic who have had this darn disease for around 16 years so far,and still suffering no complications.I have a question that will make you laugh. You are well aware of the fact that "regular" and "NPH" insulins are definitely out of favor today, but here in my so-called glorious country, they are typically used by lots of patients since the availability of the new types of insulin such as Novo rapid or the lantus one , is restricted.
I've got my blood sugar level almost controlled.my hba1c's are generally 6 to 6.3 and I test my blood sugar level 3,4 times a day so I've got the average level of 140-150(without peaks), not a very high level for a diabetic, I guess.
Anyway, the other day I finally got the lantus and the novo rapid ones for the second time, but to my astonishment the novo rapid isulin sounds like not to be working when my blood sugar is more than 200!!!!(the lantus one sounds ok)
Well, let me give you an example:
let's imagine I have had 12 units of novo rapid before meal and I got my blood sugar on 250 an hour later.so generally in such rare situations,I would inject 3,4 more units to take it somewhere between 140-150.but the other day when it happened, I had to take
22 extra units and still 2 hrs later I find it around 200!!!!!HOW Could such a thing be ??????could you please explain what I can do?!!
P.S. my body is not resistive to insulin,I am male,175 cm and I weigh 73 kg.I take half a 25-mil lozartan pill every other day to lower my blood pressure a tiny bit.the very first time I used novo rapid and lantus insulins, around 2 years ago,I had no such a problem.but since they were too expensive back in the time,I had to get back to the medieval times insulins,I mean NPH and the regular type
Your help is really appreciated
