I was diagnosed Type 2 nearly 2 years ago and had to give up so many things that I once enjoyed. Can anyone recommend a jam that I can find in the supermarket?
Thank you.

You probably won’t find one in a supermarket but I’ve bought a jam called Good Good Jam on line & in Holland & Barrett - it doesn’t have a long shelf life once opened but it’s a good jam, a bit in the steep side at £4 a jar but if it’s something you really miss it may be worth it to you. It’s about 2.5g carb per 10g (two level teaspoons)

I did buy some good good jam for my husband who is prediabetic. He liked it, but I can’t persuade him to use low carb bread, so he ended up having it on normal bread with the expected blood sugar spikes from the bread.

I stopped buying it!

St-Dalfour fruit spreads contain no added sugar, but you must keep them in the fridge once opened, as they go off very quickly. Personally, I do have a little jam, marmalade or honey from time to time - either on toast (usually only on holiday) or a teaspoonful stirred into natural yoghurt if I've nothing else to accompany it.

Thanks for the information.

I only have sourdough bread, I guarantee he’ll enjoy that.

I make my own. I use frozen fruit, thawed and boiled with a little bit of water, add chia seeds to thicken it and artificial sweetener to taste. I'm not so keen on the texture of the whole chia seeds, so next time I'll try grinding them first. It's great added to my morning porridge oats.
