You likely have time to do it and get the results back. It never occurred to me to do it but my best friend did one and was a positive so got necessary drugs during labour.
Do you really think they will have you deliver next week? Have earlier scans pointed in this direction? Is this your first baby?

Do it if you can even if time seems tight. One of my best friends expected twins the year before last. She went into labour at 30 weeks and unfortunately lost the girl after having strep b and no one knew about it :(. If I'm ever lucky enough to get pregnant again I will get checked or do a home test.

Not sure yet about delivery... said 36-37 weeks it could happen as my sugars are falling a lot and I have fluid and baby is measuring big... got scan every week with midwife or consultant appointment, just got to see

Slightly unrelated but this was never even mentioned when I was pregnant with my first. Do you have to arrange this yourself? xx

I've done the home test - really easy and the results came back quickly (less than a week IIRC). I figured that there is certainly no downside to doing it and it could provide information my consultants might find helpful. I've recommended it to others. This was the site I used:

https://groupbstreptest.co.uk

That said, the latest UK guidance seems to suggest that you'll be given antibiotics automatically if you deliver before 37w, so GBS might not matter either way for you from that perspective if you do deliver very soon:
