Woh that is scarily high!! You need to work on bringing that down as quickly as possible.Did your doc.suggest any stress relieving strategies to bring down the stress levels?

Yeh I know just did a re test and now 20.2 so going down will retest in morning to see what it is, Im starting to do meditation and get back into reg cooked meals 3 times a day I've been without a cooker for 4 weeks and diet been all over the place so now can start working on low carb and as little sugar as possible, must admit since been on satins been having side effects so stopped taking them till see nurse next week. Considering all readings where normal apart from BS which was 7.9 after fasting. So tomorrow will see if been any change as will fast till 9am.

I drink Dr Pepper Zero which was told was ok to drink but start to wonder now..

Check the ingredients,I don't know that one.if any of the ingredients end in 'ose' or 'ole' then they are also a type of sugars.

I've noticed anything that causes adrenalin release in my body causes my levels to go up, up to 5 points. When I was taking driving lessons this was particularly bad :)

Just a bit of stress doesn't seem to affect me much, but if im so anxious or stressed out my heart is racing and im really panicing, then sure that will send them up too.

I think Dr Bernstein wrote in his book that when he wasn't used to public speaking his BS would spike up from having to give TV interviews before he learned how to control this.

The levels you mention are very high though, I think there is maybe more to consider in your case than stress alone. Hope this helps :)

So true Im looking at what was causing the spike and think I discovered the culprit Coffee creamer, since I bought a tester and scripts I decided this morning to test after 1 hr after having my morning coffee plus creamer and surprise I see a 6 point rise in BS. Today I go back to semi skimmed milk.

The 26 BS seems to have been a spike as 1 hr later it dropped down to 10.2.

Im getting there :D seeing my diabetic nurse today to see if can get strips on prescription...

Test the Dr pepper Zero with your monitor if you're not sure. works for me.

I'm having a stressful day today and i have only just managed to get myself back into single figures. i think the fact that i was so high was stressing me as well which means that i was getting higher.

this disease sucks!!!!

I must have caught a bargain day then, cos I went with stress and came away with diabetes and asthma as well

Have noticed that if my 'charge' (the woman I am carer to) has a particularly bad temper, then my sugars don't fall to the levels they do when she is all sweet and pleasant. Not had any respite in the 5 weeks since I got a meter so have yet to confirm my suspicions.
