Hi there, bit of background, got diagnosed T2 last year on SR metformin 3 tablets with evening meal couldn’t handle side effects of 4 (passing out cold sweats and sickness) lost both my parents within last 11 months
Mum only passed 16/11/19..got blood results back yesterday they have gone up to 10.1 could it be all the stress and grief? TIA
Are you relying on the Metformin or are you eating a low carb diet?
The glucose has to come from somewhere, and if you are eating sugars and starchy foods there isn't going to be a lowering of test results.
I was just conjecturing that you might have put your year of birth in your identity - and if so, you have been blessed to have your parents alive for so long. It must be a great shock though, and you have my greatest sympathy for your losss.
H Sorry for your loss , when i got first diagnosed my dad was dying and in a care home, the stress was not a help to my condition , I know how you feel .
I hope you feel some comfort and as time passes the stress will lower and hopefully lower numbers .
Lots of love x
As a first step that you can take without seeing a doctor, you could try switching to Lo-salt. It claims to contain 66% less sodium than regular salt, and the missing sodium is replaced by potassium. This actually gives a higher dose of potassium than over the counter pills and it is very cheap. https://www.sainsburys.co.uk/webapp...lo-salt-reduced-sodium-salt-alternative-350g?
Hi it is lo-salt I that I use have done for years, I’ve managed to get an appointment with drs on Saturday morning so hopefully get some feedback but thank you all for your advice and kind words x
