I've not posted on here in a few months, as I've been totally focused on my university work and can officially say that my dissertation is done. I've also been recently discharged from the hospital after admitting myself when I handed in my dissertation as my BS's were fluctuating quite significantly with some days ranging from 5 - 9 mmol and others 20 and above. I also suffered a nervous breakdown at the beginning of May as I just had enough of the stress of uni, being ill and sleep deprived, being robbed the day before and just feeling hopeless. Fortunately, I went to my parents and got a little better.
The doctors have sorted me out and have been able to relax since Monday morning. I also lost quite a lot of weight; from being 24 stone 5 in November, to under 21 stone last week and now up again to 22 stone 9. My medication has changed slightly as I'm no longer taking the injectable lixisenatide, instead I've been prescribed Invokana.
The doctors have also advised me to keep on drinking plenty of fluids as I was put on a sodium and potassium chloride solution as my salts were severely low. Also I felt much better when I had some Weetabix and bread when I was in the hospital, after the nurses told me that I should be eating carbs to control my BS levels.
