struggling what to eat again ,

hi
I was a type 2 diabetic in 2013 , I went on a low carb diet cut all the rubbish out , lost lots of weight , and my gp told me I reversed it and my bs was normal hba1c back to a none diabetic ,,,, I kept this up for a year , this xmas I have put all of my weight back on and eat anything like a fool and now I am struggling again and cant think what food I used to eat , can anyone give me some advice again please , as I think my bs has gone up again ,

Oh dear, what a shame. Time to get back on the waggon and get motivated again.

Have you got a meter? What are your levels like?

Eat meat, fish, eggs, cheese, non-root vegetables, salads, unsweetened yogurts, mushrooms, tomatoes, butter, olive oil (rapeseed oil is fine for frying), bacon, high meat content sausages. Use your meter to arrive at suitable portion sizes for carbs like bread, spuds, rice, pasta etc.

Have a good read round, there are plenty of food ideas on the forum if you are really stuck. Good luck and let us know how you go on.

Did you keep diaries last time around? I use MyFitnessPal, which I find fairly convenient.
 
Hi there,
A similar thing happened to me and I almost felt like I'd forgotten what to do! I got my head around it by eating the following things (to name a few!):

loads of above ground veggies, esp green veggies
Avocados
Lean meat and fish
Eggs
Nuts and seeds
Almond milk
Olives
Low carb bread
9 bars
Pickles
Guacamole
Low carb jellies

In small amounts (as you say you are trying to lose weight) I ate the following, but I eat more liberally when not trying to lose weight (i too put on over Xmas):

Coconut oil
Olive oil
Rapeseed oil
Butter
peanut butter
cream
cheese
Full fat yoghurt or creme fraiche
Mayonaisse

For me, coconut oil is an exception when losing weight as it actually helps me burn fat and lose steadily, so I always incorporate it into my day.

you will soon get on it again and get it back you have done it once, i use the low carb but its for me a 24/7 thing soon as i go back im in trouble dont beat yourself up to much little adjustments now and up the exersizes we be seeing your post soon with ur sucess xx
