Hi Phoenix,
Sorry I was not around to wish you and your hubby happy anniversary so best wishes hope you had a nice day.
Perhaps that would be a good place to debate Ancel Keys
http://www.stop-trans-fat.com/ancel-keys.html
So the same goes for theses various obscure papers accept or as you obviously have done reject them, are you saying these are not valid studies, and are you casting doubt on the competence of the researchers, if you did look at them you will find the conclusions all had a similar outcome concerning the benefits of the LC diet. Perhaps the reason these papers are obscure is the lack of involvement by the pharmaceutical companies the fact that there's no profit to be made wouldn't be a factor would it. :?:
I
Wholegrains a distant memory for me I'm afraid due to the BG effects, and at 65 showing signs of a bit of wear and tear due to many years working in heavy engineering I'm not about to embark on a 4 mile run every day.
I don't consider you evil at all, a misguided anti low carber maybe
I would think your best way forward to get your point over would be to use the Non LC forum, you could formulate a Newbies guide setting out your dietary advice, you have your Dietician in Ally and your Dr H, so between you it should be possible to accomplish but you need to realise that test strip restriction will get worse. And also as the majority of T2s are in the older age group a 4 mile morning run to burn off the extra carbs is probably not an option.
Try low carb for more energy
Best Wishes
Graham

follow up their evidence and accept or reject it as you wish.If you want to keep throwing in various obscure papers

If you were referring to the out patients study, I used that because it showed the benefits of reducing from 45% to 30% carbs, I have if you would like a study on the effects of a ketogenic diet showing the reduction in medication, as well as the usual cardiovascular benefits.sometimes find it rather strange that we end up arguing about quite small amounts, your 'low carb' study the other day had people on 139g carb per day yet I on average probably only eat about 10g more, but still manage to include wholegrains , veg and fruits.I 'm sure that extra 10 g is taken up by running an average of 4 miles a day yet I'm considered an evil 'high carber'. This division is not particularly helpful to anyone.

To be honest I haven't got either the time or the energy to research and debate this evening. My husband would be furious too, its our 36th Weddding Anniversary.
Try low carb for more energy
Best Wishes
