What type of diabetes? and what if any medication is she on? Is she on a low carb higher fat diet? or just low sugar?

@deb1971 - Hello and Welcome to the Forum. It would help if you would give us more information as Sirmione as asked.:). I will tag @daisy1 who will provide you with some basic information. Have a read and ask any questions.

thank you for replying
she is type 2 and on metformin 3 x 500 mg
her diets not bad , its been a lot lot worse
she's started with blurred vision , sweating and she's had test on her pancreas which have come back ok sometimes then other times something not right
lately we've been watching what she eats and her levels have still been going up
cheers neil

By a "not bad" diet do you mean she is following the official NICE diet for diabetics "just avoid sugar and keep the calories down a bit" or what many of us on the forum have found to work IE. cut all carbohydrates right down to almost zero.

Hi Neil

Sorry to hear about your wife's illness. Obviously getting her to the quacks is the main thing. If it were me I would be cutting back or out sugar, potato, pasta, rice, bread cereals and sweets over the next day or so as it brings mu sugar levels down quickly. Lots of Meat,Fish,Cheese, Eggs and vegetables (non starchy) even soups with low carbs, water
She is lucky to have you looking out for her

Cheers
