Struggling with cold

Hi, and so sorry to hear this.

Can we presume your toes have now returned to 'normal' colour, warmth, movement now? Do you have 'normal' feeling in them, ie hot/cold/touch etc?

Whatever the answers to the above I've asked, I would strongly urge you to get an emergency appointment at your surgery tomorrow, with either your Diabetes Nurse, or one of the GPs.

I don't like to worry you but this could suggest that your circulation to those toes is not quite what it should be, starting to show itself. Hopefully, it will come to little issue but certainly I would want this investigated very soon before anything irreversable was established.

Please, I would urge you to arrange to be seen tomorrow. Don't let any receptionist put you off, nor accept being told there are no appointments available. They always have facilities to see anyone with an emergency.

I really think that the 27th Feb is too long away. You need to see someone today or tomorrow. Please call your doctors surgery ASAP @Jessd . I have cold feet but nothing as bad as discoloured toes. Please ring the Doc!

When I lived in a significantly cold period (the year I left the snow that fell when I came home for Christmas was still on the ground when I next came away in March), I used to wear silk socks under warmer wool or cashmere socks. The double layer made a massive difference. I also have some bamboo clothing that is wafer thin, but exceptionally warm.

Having your feet checked out is important to ensure there's nothing of concern is important, but it could be worthwhile investing in some good layers if you are going to be in the cold regularly.

Wasn't it Billy Connolly who said something like, "There's no such thing as bad weather, just the wrong clothing"?

That's a lot of layers @Jessd to still feel the cold, if your feet check out fine hopefully the Dr will take some bloods, conditions like anamia can make you feel cold so it's worth ruling out. Good luck.
