Newbie here!

I was diagnosed with GD during my recent pregnancy, due to my GTT results being very high they suspected I may have been T2 without knowing.

And sure enough my 3 month post partum Hba1c results was 53 so I've been given 3 months to loose weight/reduce my blood sugars... I'm 8 weeks in and 12lb lighter following LCHF And 16:8 fasting.

Majority of my readings are within the normal/prediabetic range I'm just struggling with my fasting readings which seem to vary from 7.4 - 8.5.

I'm waking several times during the night due to a baby who keeps rolling over in her sleep lol... is it likely broken sleep will affect my fasting reading?

Last night I tested;

9.30pm - 6.4
3am - 6.7
6am - 6.8
8am - 7.4

Is this an example of dawn phenomenon? Is there anything I can do to improve this?

Sorry for waffle and several questions, thanks in advance for your replies

God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
Courage to change the things I can,
And wisdom to know the difference.

The 2hr post meal readings are under your control, as you choose what you eat, the fasting readings are not under your control in the short term, but will improve if you always get good 2hr post meal readings and lose some weight.

Hah! Dawn phenomenon? My sugar used to spike up to 18-20 each single morming for months not knowing the reasons and having fingers pointed towards me saying that I'm eating too much and pretending not to! Imagine! Thankfully it is over and I think it is not a problem to have fasting BG in that range because it could be much much worse! I'm not saying it is 100% okay it is better to have lower levels but it is not a problem either to worry about too much
Stay safe
