Hi. I was diagnosed as T2 in October 2010, lost 3 stone since March 2010 and, thanks to this wonderful forum, I have cut down on carbs and my HbA1c has dropped a little from 6.4 in March to 6.1 December. I test normally around 4 times a day and my fasting levels are 4.5 to 5.4 on average.
We went away over Christmas and I was very good food wise and kept my BG levels around 7 after dinner, I find I am strugling since coming back. For breakfast on a work day I normally have 20g of branflakes with some berries, and my BG tests at about 6 2 hours after. This includes a 25 min walk to and from stations. However, on Friday my fasting BG was 4.6, which went up to 10.1 2 hours later (same breakfast minus the walk). Sunday I decided to have a protein only breakfast of 2 slices edam and 1 slice ham. BG's went from 5.1 to 7.1 :? . This morning I returned to the branflakes and had a reading of fasting 5.1 to 12.1 (minus the walk).
My question is, I have been feeling a bit under the weather, slight sore throat, sneezing, headache (had a flu jab in November)and wondered if this could be the reason my BG's have climbed a bit? and would eating at a different time to normal make a difference?
Sorry for waffling and thanks for reading
