Stuck weight loss

I’ve been doing low carb -up to 50 carbs per day - for couple months and am really pleased with the initial weight loss of 10lbs within 3 weeks. However I’ve been stuck at the same weight for 5 weeks and I’m getting really frustrated. Is there any way I can kickstart the weight loss again? Thanks for any advice you can give.

In my experience if you're low-carbing fat loss has almost nothing to do with calorie intake. My fat loss was not consistent - it dropped, then stabilised, then dropped again.

It might be worth putting a fasting period in, or moving the fasting period around. Also maybe a couple of days on only proteins and fats - eg meat and eggs.

The other thing is that if you're exercising you could be building muscle: still losing fat but not weight, as the muscle is heavier than the fat it replaces.

Thanks for the replies, it’s good to know other people have experienced the same! KennyA, did your periods of stability last as long as 5 weeks?
I can’t exercise at the moment as I’m awaiting surgery for spinal issues, and even walking is painful, so I’ll try the protein and fat option. Are these protein shakes any good, does anyone know?

Yes they did - in fact I've lost very little weight (if any) over the past year, although another couple of inches has vanished off my waist. Since I've started playing football again, weight loss has stalled. When I was losing, it was mainly through the colder six months of the year and without exercising. Loss in any given month was unpredictable.

Never tried the protein shakes - I prefer real food!
