I've lived in villages and the outskirts of tiny towns all my life - though I don't doubt pollution can contribute in some cases - just not mine :) - pollution is nasty devil and has a lot to answer for

Prem51, I think you'll find this 10 minute lecture from 2011 by Dr. Joseph Pizzorno, ND interesting. Pay particular attention to the POPs - [Persistant Organic Pollutants] - and Diabetes slide and discussion, minutes 08:16 - 09:04...

Something else that I learned from Dr. Pizzorno is that toxins, which include POPs and heavy metals, are partitioned off from the body in our fat cells. That's why it's so important to have regular bowel movements and to regularly eat fiber rich foods when losing weight so as those toxins are released into the colon, they bind with the fiber and are carried out of the body so they're not reabsorbed.

If anyone is interested in learning more from Dr. Pizzorno, there's quite a few good interviews with him on YouTube from 2017 when his book was published. Two interviews with Dr. Pizzorno that I enjoyed were with Dr. Trevor Cates, The Spa Doctor Podcast...
and with Dave Asprey, Bulletproof Radio...

This is the reason why I want to continue losing weight. :)

The Baltic seal population were found to have high levels of PCB (Polychlorinatedbiphenols) in their fat cells, I guess we all have some. Interesting, thanks.D.

They have found pollutants every where on the planet no where is free of them town or country makes no difference.

When I worked for the mines, I produced a shed load of pollutant everyday where I worked in the Cu smelter, where the white SO2 fume is coming from in pix.

Traces of the fume were found as far away South Australia.

When the PB smelter stack was built to cut back on pollution in town, they put coloured powder into the stack, and that was found also as Adelaide in South Adelaide.
