I hate getting a high BG level, I know it's only been a week since new baby, and as my routine is mucked up my levels have risen and its starting to get to me, I am getting annoyed at stupid simple things and starting to upset me. Not helping is having some family over for lunch and there's rolls, sausage rolls, crisps etc for lunch, made myself a roll but stopped myself eating it and now p£&sed off. They all know I don't eat that stuff but still forget and ask am I not having any..... :***:

Sleep is affecting me at the moment as night times feeds are making my DP higher than normal.. Aarrggghhhh!!!

Last week I was steady low to mid 5's, now low 6 to low 7. :(

Needed to rant.

Hi Bio, glad you feel you can rant to us. Its pretty easy to stay on track when life is steady and routine, the hard part is trying to stay on track when life throws you the inevitable curve ball. That's why so many people (me included) lose weight/give up smoking/etc and then put it back on/start again - life gets in the way.

But you know you can do it, stick to your winning formula, resist temptation, see if you can fit a bit more exercise in, maybe trade with Mrs Bio so that you can get a good night's sleep every other night.

You are one of the people who inspire me on this forum, keep fighting!!

Thanks Freddycat, not sure I have been an inspirational figure before :D

I am sure that I will be back on track shortly, just a built up tension :D I am going to gym in the morning first thing. I am doing late night feed and Mrs Bio is doing earning morning feed.

I will do it, just feeling a little low today that all.

You may be feeling a bit low Bio....but come on it's worth it in the long run you know that

Don't get too stressed out about your levels....you will make it worse.....and just enjoy that new baby!! You will soon settle back into a routine and little one will grow and you will wonder what you were stressing about.

Enjoy and keep smiling.

Hi Bio

How about not testing for a few days

Stick to only the food you know is fine for you and forget the testing

Hi biohazard.
You are being too hard on yourself ...
Think about things this way, you have had a life changing event happen recently.
Your beautiful new baby daughter and it impacts bringing stress with the sleepless nights
feeds, winding,nappy changes etc.
Caring for your lovely wife and family too, as these changes "settle down" so will your BG levels.
Things have changed in your life and this will be reflective with your sugars too.
I 'know' you feel it matters as you work hard to keep things stable etc...
Remember we are here for you and you can let off steam as we understand
Am sure when all becomes a sense of routine and normality you will see your levels
sit back down to your preferred low to mid 5's again.
If you get stressed they 'will' creep up.
Plus its hard to eat to your own diet/food plan when everyone around you has been celebrating.
You have been celebrating a wonderful new life changing experience and I bet your sugars rose up
to celebrate with you!!!
When all settles down they will do too...
Anna.

Thanks guys.....

I am ok, just all happened at once :D My levels are slowly coming back down, in low to mid 6's now.

Gonna go bake some sugar free, low carb cakes and goodies, so I can feel naughty.

Ah scuse my spelling mistake, its been a long day. Glad to hear it.

:D that's ok, my posts are full of them and extra commas, my iPhone and iPad thinks it can do grammar better than me.

Hope you are keeping well?

yeah ok thanks, bit knackered after my second ever spin class (as I have said before its medieval torture reinvented for the 21st century) and had my HBA1c taken today - first one since I have started low carbing, so I am a bit excited for the result next week. Feeling motivated at the mo which is good

Spin class does not sound good. They have that at my gym and I am not ready for that yet :D

Good luck for your results
