Hi, this is a stupid question but what is meant by cream cheese in the lchf recipes? When I go to the supermarket there's lots of 'soft cheese' but I never see anything labelled 'cream cheese'. Is it the same thing? Is Philadelphia cream cheese? Don't really like Philly, so I'm hoping there's alternatives. I seem to remember having cream cheese as a kid (many moons ago) - might have been Primula? What brands do people buy?

Philly comes in different flavours. Would that help?
Didn't know that! Have studiously ignored it in the supermarket until now but will check it out tomorrow, thanks x

Oh and btw it wasn't a stupid question. I've only just realised Philly was the cream cheese mentioned in lchf recipes.

I've used Philly in quite a few low-carb recipes - @ewelina 's pancakes, for instance, and a fabulous low-carb pizza base which has it as an ingredient, to name just two - and I wouldn't even have known that there was Philly in them - I think when it's used just a binding ingredient, or to make something just 'creamier', there's no hint of the 'cream cheesiness' in there at all. But then actually I do quite like the stuff in its own right, so I might not be the best example as taste-tester!!!
