Hi Folks, my mum called me tonight in a bit of a panic after seeing this on TV.

I'm not scaremongering by any means but feeling very uneasy if the pod has malfunctioned.

Fully agree, very sad, so sorry for this poor guy and his family / friends.

Please don't panic, hopefully all will become clearer once experts get time to review.

I had the same thought. We probably won't hear one way or the other regarding the investigation results. Such a tragedy

I thought the pod only had 3 days supply of insulin I have to change mine every 3 days and surely this poor guy was monitoring his blood glucose it must have dropped considerably while he was asleep. You never know if this technology malfunctions a bit scary

Hiya, with the omnipod pump I was told when changing it to fill with 200 units regardless of the daily needs but yep needs changing every 3 days. More than likely lots of excess insulin was in the pod. Tragic!
