It's not at all unusual to see cholesterol rise when starting LCHF - do you have the actual numbers?

Well done on getting your blood glucose levels down @tartanmarty. My total cholesterol level went up too, partly because I lost weight so there was less of me in proportion to the cholesterol. But my 'good' cholesterol increased which added to the total figure.
The ratios of HDL, LDL and triglycerides to each other is more relevant than the total figure. If you don't know the breakdown you should ask your GP surgery for online access to your test results, or a printout of the results.

If you have been losing weight this will skew your figures temporarily.

Same happened to me, went up from 4.8 to 5.8 which Doc said was a bit high.
