sugar mildly high but hungry!!

What do i do? T2 on 'metfartin'. So hungry this evening but sugars 9.9 two hours post supper. Not the healthiest of supper.......Just so frustrated, im hungry and dont know what to do :-(

I think Cheese is probably the answer, or although it's late, a brisk 15 minute walk would possible make a difference,

Just out out interest what did you eat.......

Yes.
One day at a time.
Cheese, meat, olives, anything that won't raise your BG, then when that's sorted, start to focus on reducing the snacks.

Took kids out to local cafe for supper as ive been away without them for weekend. Had mushroom omelette and chips. Had a bit of a dont care attitude.....tonight been eating crackers. Probably just mentally low after lovely w/end away. Hopefully tom will be back on track

Hi, Never had them since being diagnosed, Crackers that is, but someone mentioned that they are quite bad for spiking. The chips are OK in Moderation 6 of deep fried maybe a good measure.

But these high spikes can be a worry.

It is frustrating but it does get better...... hope you getting all the Low carbing info from here co's its really helped me. Good luck

Ps the figure may come down very quickly with some exersize Mike D on here has been trialing that to get his figure down

Moral is - don't eat too many carbs! As suggested have some nice cheese, or even better to cheer you up again - a lovely bowl of berries and cream.

Hi, Never had them since being diagnosed, Crackers that is, but someone mentioned that they are quite bad for spiking. The chips are OK in Moderation 6 of deep fried maybe a good measure.

But these high spikes can be a worry.

Last nite was a prime example :)

7.1 one hour before dinner. 20 minutes hard quick walk and down to 5.4 Had dinner then 100 laps of the driveway before 1 hour had elapsed and tested at 5.3. Then blueberries and cream and 2 hour reading of 5.2

It then jumped (inexplicably but I reckon it was the blueberries and cream to some degree) to 7.2 at the four hour post dinner mark (10.30pm). Then 10 laps / test 10 laps / test and a third 10 laps test and the numbers back down to 6.6. I just have to tweak the timing between meals when I exercise.

Is this a big drive way, I'm trying to imagine, Mike, are you neighbors looking on or are you fairly remote.

All this exercising seams to be working for you but will you be able to keep it up all the time.

I have had a day of 6s where I'm usually down to the low 5s and then early to late 6s so i'm not sure what went on today.

Yep, it's about 100 yards end to end Neil. Neighbours don't see me and if they do, they don't really care. It can get a little boring but last nite I was on a mission to prove my theories at close enough to 11 p.m. and where some have BS rises with activity, I'm the reverse.

As for keeping it up, I reckon I'll be good. When we move to Washington state next year (have our house picked out) it's gentle level ground among giant spruce trees so it'll be something to enjoy. Otherwise, exercise bike of some sort but for the time being, it's great and doesn't bother me as I get pretty fixated on the task at hand .... getting BS down and keeping fit.

Sounds nice where you intend to move to, is that for retirement or moving with a job?

We are on a private road 9ft/10ft wide leading to a golf course but just over 1/2 mile long to the main road.

We are in a cottage adjacent to the 17th Tee sound idyllic, but it's not.

Don't play golf. don't get on with the golf course owner, she is notorious for conflict and has screened all our views to the north of use with conifers.

However the roadway which is lightly used is great for the very brisk walking exercise which I can easily make it a mile by continuing to walk directly through the golf course and into the country.

Anyway back to Diabetes I have been loosing weight and the correlation between the two for me is inextricably linked , even when the weight has bounced back up a 1lb Or 2lbs then this has shown as slight increases in the sugars for those few days following the same curve.

Going to the US with my American wife mate :) See above post for location but in the PNW (Pacific Nth West near Seattle)

Time to get out of these summers and that's it for me. Done my time. Funnily enough, we'll be close to a golf course (really close) but it's a game I don't care for.

Feet up, warm jumpers, crackling fires, seafood and people I actually love. Americans are fantastic !!!! Won't miss this joint too much at all :) Save for the cricket and AFL :(

Still testing the BS and same result as last nite. Variable of 0.2 across the 2 hours and laps at 20 mins post the dinner and one hour periods. Nothing over 6.6 :)

Sleep well ... or at least I will :)
