Hello everyone, I hope you all had a lovely Christmas and a brilliant start the the new year,

I was just wondering if any of you could share your experiences and tips with losing weight??

I ask as I am currently loosing weight, last month I lost 10lbs this month however I feel my weigh in will be a little less as it's Christmas, allthough I have'nt indulged in any foods I shouldn't have or eaten more that my allowance.. Seeing all of my family and having no time to exercise has come at a cost I believe.. However I'm getting backbon track with exercise and still eating little and often and healthy suitable meals and low carbs..

I'm at a lost cause now and not sure what to try or do..

If you could help I'd be incredibly grateful

your body does that

the weight loss will vary sometimes for very obscure reasons

for example you weigh less when the moon is directly overhead because the moon lifts water [tidal effect on the oceans and humans are at least 70% water]

other reasons are weight loss plateau

also did you know that if you overeat on the weekend it will usually show up on the scales on Wednesday?


the thing is - no matter what the scales say and even if you have been bad and indulged a little and did not exercise as much as you would have liked to, dont let it discourage you and just keep on going and get back to your good healthy habits right away.

I'm currently reading "The Smarter Science of Slim" by Jonathan Bailor. He makes a lot of sense - and everything he says is backed up by scientific research. It's not just another "diet guru" type book.

It's a case of calories in/ calories out, if you burn more than you consume then the weight will eventually move. I lost two and a half stone over 2 years following this advice, yes it was slow but I found losing weight slowly was more achievable than any other method of dieting.

I will be looking into those books.. Me and my other half are keeping fit and loosing weight together now.. Allthough he isn't diabetic he still follows the same regime as me.. Which helps alot :) I am loosing some just not as much as I'd like to..

With you losing 10lbs last month and having spent a nice time with your family over Christmas without overindulging, I think you can teach us a few things with regard to controls.

I feel like I've not done as well as last month which gets me down, but I guess I shall see tomorrow when I've seen my diabetes dietician.. I haven't seen her since summer time, as I've seen the specialist several times, I haven't been on the Daphne course yet, however I'm not sire if i will be going on that course.

Has everyone who has type one been on or awaiting to go onto the Daphne course??

HI I CANNOT TELL YOU ANY MORE THAN I HAVE EXPERIENCED. MY WIFE WANTED TO PACK IN SMOKING AND AFTER THREATS I HIGHLY PRAISED HER EVERY WEEK WHICH SHE SAID HELPED HER. NOW WITH THE DIABETES TYPE 2 WE ARE BOTH ON THE SAME MAIN MEALS THOUGH SHE CAN HAVE A CHOC BISC OR 2 IF SHE LIKES AND HER SWEETS IN BED BUT WE ARE BOTH LOOSING WEIGHT AND PRAISING EACH OTHER . IF YOU DO NOT GET PRAISE YOU CAN THINK WHATS THE POINT AND AFTER ALL HOW MUCH DOES PRAISE COST EVEN IF THE PERSON IS TELLING A LITTLE WHITE LIE

I want to suggest some simple steps which can be helpful for you to loosing bodyweight. First of all you should start your day with yoga exercise, than eat diet foods in breakfast, always check your foods before eating them, avoid to eat too much healthy, fast foods or non vage foods as well. Following a good diet programme like Cambridge diet programme because it's more flexible can be beneficial for you to burn fat.
