My morning sugar run quite high. 8 to as high as 10. Very upsetting. My Naturopathic Doctor said my snack at bed time was too small and incorrect (half an apple and cheese). She suggested eggs or celery and peanut butter or meat and olives. I tried all of these over a few days and my sugar is now mid fives or low sixes. Never been that low before I couldn’t believe it but loving it.

Hello Penroy, that is awesome, did your doctor provide an explanation as to why? Or the mechanism for that work?

If I understand correctly, the combinations are:

- eggs
- celery + peanut butter
- meat + olives

Like this? Or the combination doesnt matter?

Thanks,

L

I also find a handful of lettuce helps too to bring me in the 6s

I’m guessing a lack of carbs from the apple and increased fats and proteins for slow energy release during the night so the liver doesn’t feel the need to dump as much glucose in order to get up and going.

The advice was to eat a big enough protein snack to get through the night. These are not the only choices just examples. Could be any meat or cheese etc.
