What do you class as a Uper Food I have done some of the recipes from this forum and one thing seems to lower my sugar levels that being Coconut oil, I made some stuff like fudge yes a little sweet but yummy and I noted my levels stay low....so guess that is a super food ...what other foods are classed as Super Foods?

Superfoods have to have vitamins, fats wtc beyond just keeping bg levels level....

My thoughts above are what has improved my own personal health

Ground flax seed and oh, chia seeds.

Very important to have a teaspoon of each everyday on my blueberries and mixed berries and either greek yogurt or full fat double cream.

They have kept my digestive system fantastic since previously being diagnosed with slow colonic transit (now totally discharged from gastro consultants)... Whhooo hooo for ground flax seed!!!!

Where do you get the ground flax seed, I've never found it yet?

I get mine online somewhere.. But buy 5 at a time, and no good at filing where I buy thesethings from.

I use bulkpowders for a lot of my food stuffs like peanut butter (100%), whey protein, coconut oil and flour, but haven't got a clue for the flaxseed. Mine is Linwoods milled organic flaxseed...

Just found, I get my flaxseed from superfooduk.

I made some flaxseed bread it was lovely and all the above from the health food shop I have browsed in there and seen many things i am thinking of trying after reading some of the recipes in here, however this coconut oil is too much of it bad for you as tends to make me feel a little sick:***:

My own top10 and in no particular order are:

Blueberries
Oats
Seeds
Broccoli
Banana
Garlic
Oily Fish
Green Tea
Beetroot
Spinach

never tried Spinach nor green tea but the rest yes and you see Untill having Diabetes I did not know there was any super foods so is why I asked the question so others may be aware of them.....:)

If you have access to Twitter look at @veganUP he he lots of visual guides on this subject explaining their benefits.
(You don't have to be Vegan either:))

I was having problems with control of my BS and my daughter investigated and found that foods containing chromium were supposed to help- one of these is broccoli so we joke about me having this for every meal :) I was also told by my dietician to eat more protein as this helps with insulin absorption
