Supermarket Meltdown!! Well nearly!!!

Reckon you are spot on with the water thing.I am sure I read a few years ago that it was estimated that most people were dehydrated as most soft drinks, fruit juices and coffee tea etc have a diuretic effect.Must try harder here. I am no expert but off the top of my head it seems to me that if you are low carbing and burning fat during ketosis, there must be some need to get rid of any associated waste products. Not very scientific an explanation I know but seems logical to me.

Oh how your rant hits it right on the head. Speaking for myself, I went from frustration to steam coming out of my ears to just ignoring so many aisles in Morrisons. My shopping trip now takes half the time it did as the cake aisle, crisp aisle, bread aisle etc are all no go areas. Veggie section and meat aisles with a quick trip down the cream and yogurt aisle sees my shop done and sanity in tact. Speaking of having to check labels on everything, it would be a huge help if they made the writing a little bigger ;)...I now have to carry a small magnifying glass and end up getting some very odd looks while standing there looking like a female Sherlock Holmes whilst trying to see how many carbs stuff has in it. All that said I have to admit to liking some of my food inventions and cooking fresh food daily. Some concoctions I come up with don't even have a name but they still taste good :) Such is the lot of a diabetic...hopeless at times and so frustrating but day by day we plough on with it and for myself I can say that I get a small sense of satisfaction when I get things right and the numbers add up :)

Yes makes perfect sense what u say. I dont tend to really enjoy water but know I have to drink more. Sparkling water is more palitable to me.I heard that drink8ng regular sips throughout day is preferable and what r bodies require and that if we wait till we r thirsty we are already dehydrated .And I think the recommended amount is half our body weight in fluid ounces .So if so someone was 100 lbs in weight they need to dring 50 fluid ounces of water.

I have just made a coffee with cream, so much for my new water regime!!! Talking about concoctions I have had some belters, especially when using up either leftovers or using stuff up before it goes out of date.I suppose it is gonna happen when you have to be selective with what you buy. Also I try and buy the best quality I can afford for the same reason.Sometimes get funny looks from "The others" (as I call the undiabetics). I will have cold sausages with mustard, cottage cheese, rollmop herring and hazelnuts if I want!!! ;-)
