Dunno. Strange question.
I know that this has been discussed somewhat, but there is a fair bit of suggestion by Dr. Holford and Dr. Hyman - and in the Prescription for Nutritional Healing - a natural health guide on vitamin therapies that is one of the most respected books on the subject - that certain vitamins and foods in supplement form are helpful in reversing T2D. Cinnamon being an example. Yet, if you look out there, it is controvertial, but maybe for people who don't HAVE diabetes...it's questionable as to its value.

Do you supplement or not, and if so what and why? I'm curious.

No supplements for me. But so many raw carrots I must be getting huge amounts of vit a and d

I used to consider Holford an authority.
He has a vast amount of knowledge, but I think he is rather selective of his sources. And I think his main priority nowadays seems to be using that knowledge to sell his expensive supplements.

I bought his low GI diet book and followed it for months, thinking it was a good idea for type 2s and pre diabetics.

But when I got myself a blood glucose meter, I discovered that his recommended foods and portions were causing terrible BG spikes.

So I guess I'm saying that no matter how convincing something seems, it is only a good idea if it benefits you.

Yes, I have that same sense...too many carbs to actually get the results of the Newcastle Diet! Just too long a process.

I take Benfotiamine. Others here said it helped a lot with the pain of peripheral neuropathy. There are sound reasons why thiamine ( benfotiamine is an artificial oil-solvent form of thiamine) should help diabetics. I had nerve pain in my feet that I thought might be caused by damage or by my type 2 diabetes. In three years it has remained stable.
I also drink kefir and kombucha. If you have seen the recent reports on the value of probiotics for diabetics you will understand my thinking here. My BGs seem to have levelled off despite a certain level of dietary cheating. These are natural sources of a wide variety of probiotics, and may help to normalise the gut environment.
We diabetics probably have pretty unhealthy biomes.

I've been trying a quarter teaspoon cinnamon in yoghurt (with 1 tsp cocoa) per day for 1 month with no perceivable difference in BG levels. However, I do enjoy it - so that's a plus!
