Hi all. I am getting my first insulin pump on the 14th of this month and I am quite excited. I am wondering if you get your supplies...like the tubes and everything from the pharmacy, hospital or medtronic directly? Im starting the pump on the 14th and have not been told to order any tubes or insulin or anything... will I get a supply of them on my start day?

Hello - I have a medtronic pump and how it worked wiht me was that my DSN gave me a box of cannulas/reservoirs to begin with to tied me over. They then raised an annual purchase order and provided me with the number which I quote direct to Medtronic and order supplies direct from them by e-mail. After the stuff arrives (normally takes about a week) I get a note from my DSN asking me to confirm that it has arrived. This system works well for me. I live in Mid Wales so I dont know if things differ from one LHB to another. My insulin, striips etc. still comes from my GP surgery. All the best.

Same, I'm with medtronic and you order with them say every six months. I just ring them up and tell them what I need and they usually send it out within a week.

Like Riri said you still get your insulin and strips etc from your GP

Good luck, it's a god send
