So had a busy day!

Brief visit to monkey world, drove 3 hours home, put washing on, watered plants, went to shops to buy tonights dinner, cut grass, put washing out, strimmed edges, mostly unpacked.

Then came dinner. Beef meatballs with rocket, spinach and watercress and beetroot and tomatoes with dressing.

Normally this would be fine. But tonight I’ve ended up on a 9.2. Started as 6.6

Am shocked. Especially as I am now sat back firmly on my wagon and I know I’ve run high all week as I’ve been away

So I did have a lick of hot chocolate as I was making it but that the whole drink doesn’t usually affect it!

Am slightly frustrated as was really pleased with that meal. Unless I ate too much as I did eat all the meatballs but I hadn’t eaten much all day.

If your meatballs were shop bought (as opposed to made at home), they may have had cereal or other carbs added, in much the same way as happens wih sausages

Just checked,
Per 4 meatballs 3.5 g carbs and I had 12. So 10.5

Plus a bit from the beetroot, tomato and dressing. It can all add up, I guess.

With all that activity you may have had a liver dump just before dinner.

It could just be the "hangover" from your holiday, it may take a few days for your numbers to go back to what you are used to even though you are back on your regime, just be patient and stick with it, the body can take a while to get back on track after a slackening off on carbs even for a short while. I know from times in the past when I have had "carb creep" it has taken a lot more than one meal for me to get back in line

I had Tesco meatballs last night and they are 1.6g carbs for 4 - we had 6 each with home made tomato and mushroom sauce with mashed potato - small dessert spoon for me and leeks - loads for me with grated cheese on top.

That sounds nice. Going to make that.

@Cana did you retest?
Whenever i see an unexpected reading I wash my hands again and retest to check it really is what it says.
You may have had something on your fingertip that was skewing your reading.

No I have before but didn’t last night.

Things have been better today, well sugars have.

I haven’t. Good ole withdrawals and felt lousy all day but knowing what it is makes it easier!!
