It was Jim Reeves, I think, who said 'Put your sweet lips a little closer to the phone'. If Jim had called me right now, I'd be able to do just that.

I'm on the LCHF plan and each morning when I wake up, my lips taste deliciously sweet. I'm guessing this has something to do with the diet but I wondered if anyone else has experienced this or has an insight as to why it has happened and if it's a permanent feature.

Looking forward to reading your thoughts. In fact, I'm licking my lips!

What are your ketone levels at?

Dietary ketosis and DKA can cause interesting changes to your breath. Some report a smell of nail varnish remover, others report a sweet smell or simply bad breath...

Whether this can transpire to a taste I don't know. Also, whether your ketone count can be high enough to cause a smell or taste change through dietary means alone, I'm not sure.
